This is a leisurely 5 mile walk from the centre of Lymm getting onto the Bridgewater Canal via the Trans Pennine Trail.
Then along the canal up to Oughtrington where we turn back and head into the centre of Lymm and skirting behind Lymm Hall we head onto and along Lymm Dam.
There is 1 short set of steps up and they are good firm steps with a handrail, and one set descending. Apart from that it is a very easy walk…..

From your location head onto the M56 then exit at junction 7, then take the first exit after the bend onto the A556 and take the outside lane. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit, Altrincham – Lymm A56.
You will then come to a 2nd roundabout. Stay in the inside lane at the traffic lights on the roundabout. Take the 1st exit going through Little Bollington. This is the A56 Lymm Road.
Stay on the A56 until you see a pub on your left, The Church Green. Turn right down Rectory Lane, and this will take you straight down into the centre of Lymm village with the Cross on your left. Turn right and go over the bridge and take the 2nd left turn, New Rd, the 1st right into Lymmhay Lane. Follow this down and across the junction and onto a dirt road and the car park is on your right.

You can also travel via Cheadle and Altrincham the A560, then at Altrincham drive onto the A56 till you arrive at the Bowdon roundabout where the DVSA centre is. Take the outside lane A56 Lymm taking the 3rd exit on to the A56, then follow the instructions as above.
