The walk starts at 10am from the turning circle at the end of Shepley Street, Old Glossop SK13 7RZ.
It’s 9.6 miles and starts at Shepley Street where it’s unmetalled, then along Doctor’s Gate and the long but relatively gentle climb up Bleak Low to the Hern & Wain Stones at the top of Bleak Low (2080ft). Along then to Torside Castle and down along Torside Clough Edge, over Cock Hill (1398ft) and back down to Shepley Street.

If the weather is bad and democracy requires a shorter way back then we’ll descend via Yellow Stacks Edge, which will make the walk about 9 miles.
