This walk is about 7.5 miles and is undulating in parts with an overall ascent of 698 feet. It is mostly on decent tracks/paths with about 5 stiles. The route takes us around Wayoh Reservoir and then onto country lanes into the village of Chapeltown. We then go through woodland which passes the fantastic Turton Tower (see https://turtontower.co.uk for more details). We then drop down to Jumbles Reservoir to walk completely around the reservoir. We then follow Bradshaw Brook into the pretty village of Turton Bottoms. Further country lanes and fields then take past the Old Russian Reservoir before entering the village of Edgeworth and back to the pub. Toilets are available at Turton Tower and. I plan to have a late coffee break at Turton Towers where there are toilets and benches. Toilets are also available at the Visitors Centre at Jumbles Country Park at 5.5 miles into the walk.

Directions to the Black Bull Inn Car Park which is located at the rear of the pub (167-169 Bolton Road, Edgeworth, Bolton BL7 0AF).

The distance from Marple is about 32 miles and should take about 50 minutes to drive to the start. Please car share where possible to ease congestion in the pub car park.

• Join the M60 towards the airport
• At junction 15, take the M61 exit to Preston/Wigan/Bolton
• Continue onto A666(M)/M6.
• Keep right at the fork to continue on A666(M), follow signs for Bolton/A66Keep right to stay on St Peter’s Way/A66Turn right onto Turton St/A676
• Turn left onto Folds Rd/A676
• Continue to follow A676
• Turn left onto Turton Rd/B6472
• Turn right onto Chapeltown Rd/B6391 passing Bromley Cross station.
• From the B6391 Chapeltown Road fork slight right after 1.8 miles onto Wellington Road (Turton Bottoms) before entering Chapeltown itself.
• The Black Bull is 0.7 miles along the road on the left hand side opposite Edgworth Methodist Church. There is a small free car park is at the rear of the pub. 
• PLEASE PARK NEXT TO THE FENCE AT THE BACK OF THE CAR PARK AND IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE SHARE LIFTS DUE TO LIMITED SPACE IN THE CAR PARK.
