Meet/start point – Lay-by on Mudhurst Lane – left hand side about 200yds before entrance to High Peak School (formerly The Moorside Hotel).

Limited space so car share is strongly recommended. (There is also another short layby nearer to the school which will accommodate 3/4 cars)

Time –  Walk will start at 10.00 am

Distance Just over 7 miles with 1250ft cumulative ascent.

Track – Enter School approach then go SE towards Whaley Bridge as far as Hawkhurst Head. Then W and S to Kettleshulme – then S along Todd Brook valley turning E to cross the Todd Brook and ascend to Charles Head. Continue to Macc. Road/Bakestonedale Road to pick up the Gritstone Trail across Sponds Hill via Bowstones and back to the cars.
