The walk goes up and over Mam Tor to Hollins Cross to Back Tor to Lose Hill and down to Hope. Across towards the cement works, turning right come back across the meadow following the river to Castleton. Through the village then back into the meadows to the bottom of Mam Tor, climbing up the old broken road, past Blue John mines to the cars. Approx 8 miles.

From Hazel Grove take A6 to Whaley Bypass, up the bypass ahead at the roundabout then take the first exit  left at the junction follow for about 2 miles arriving at Mam Tor  park on the right hand side 9.45 for 10am walk.
