The walk on Thursday will start from New Mills Car park at Torr Top. Fee £2.60 per day. Start time 10 a.m. The walk will be via Birch Vale to the Big Rock on Chinley Churn, about 8 miles. Gentle beginning on the Sett Valley Trail, then a long uphill section to Big Rock. Descent via paths and a watery track to Laneside New Mills. A bad weather alternative is possible at 6 miles, still starting at New Mills. Coffee at the Sett Valley cafe, 1 hour out
