DESCRIPTION:Start time:  10:00 \n\n\n\nStart Point:  Nabbs Road\, Wildboarclough.  We are parking at the only layby that was offering free parking at the time of the recce  (SK11 0BB; OS: SJ979680\, W3W: noise.wisely.vowed).  The layby has space for 8-10 cars\, so we should all be able to park there.  For anybody who is looking to locate this on an OS map it is above the ‘k’ in Clough Brook and the other side of the footbridge from the P symbol. \n\n\n\nRoute:  Crag Hall\, Gradbach\, Goldstitch Moss\, Back Forest\, Danebridge\, Bennetshill Farm \n\n\n\nDescription:  The walk is 13 miles long with a total elevation of just under 2300’.  The route passes Crag Hall\, Gradbach\, Goldstitch Moss\, Back Forest\, Danebridge and Bennetshill Farm. \n\n\n\nCan you please let the leader listed in the programme know by 6pm Wednesday evening if you are intending to walk via text\, WhatsApp or email.  Pauline has offered to provide the baking for the coffee stop\, so Mrs McVitie has officially been stood down for this week!!   The ginger cake will have to wait! \n\n\n\n  \n  \n\n\n\n13 miles\, moderate

DESCRIPTION:Start 10am Fernilee Dam car park directions:  \n\n\n\n You need to be careful as there’s no road-sign showing a turn-off. As you see ahead a 50 mph sign on the left (if you reach the 50 sign you’ve driven past) and a road also joins obliquely down from the left (now behind you)\, there is a right turn with a red sign warning of speed ramps to the right. Turn down there and follow the road past a couple of houses to the dam. Parking is on the left. It’s popular with dog walkers who mostly park sensibly in the area provided to the left at right angles to the road. If all those spaces are full or too muddy/wet there is usually plenty of space alongside the road before the parking spaces.  \n\n\n\nWalk 10.5 miles moderate \n\n\n\nWe walk down the reservoir to Bunsall Cob wood\,then up Wild Moor to the blocked tunnel. We continue to Shay Lodge and round to Berry Clough and down to the riverside path along to Goyt. Return is on the west side of the reservoir. \n  \n\n\n\n10.5 miles\, strenuous / moderate

DESCRIPTION:My walk on 2nd April 2026 is Godley\, Tameside\,  parking post code SK14 3BJ \n\n\n\nThe walk is 5 miles\, over varied terrain\, a couple of stiles\, a long steady climb at beginning but no hills. \n\n\n\nFor parking: proceed to Market street\, Hyde.  Halfway down Market street\, turn right at traffic lights at Union Street\, right again at next traffic lights – Morrisons\, Mottram road. \n\n\n\nStay on Mottram Road for about 2 miles to Godley station on the left\, just before a bridge over the road.   Turn right before the bridge at Station Road and park there. 10.15 for 10.30 start.  \n  \n\n\n\n5 miles\, moderate
