SUMMARY:C Walk - Rudyard Lake
DESCRIPTION:RUDYARD LAKE.  Seven miles easy walking on firm tracks around the lake and across fields.  Mostly flat\, with a few easy slopes.  Toilets are available at the first coffee stop.  \n\n\n\nThe distance from Brabyns is about 22 miles\, and the driving time is about 45 minutes. \n\n\n\nFrom Brabyns drive to Hazel Grove\, and turn left onto the A523 towards Macclesfield. \n\n\n\nDrive through Macclesfield and continue on the A523 towards Leek. \n\n\n\nAfter about a further 8 miles you will come to Rushton. \n\n\n\nYou will see a sign for J Hallam Landrovers on your left.  \n\n\n\nTake the next turn on your right onto Station Lane.  There is a signpost to The Knott Inn. \n\n\n\nAfter a few hundred yards you will see The Knott Inn (SK11 0QU) on your left. \n\n\n\nTake the first track immediately after the pub on your left.  The car park is on your right.  I will meet you there. \n\n\n\nPlease meet at 10am to start walking at 10.15. \n\n\n\nAfter walk drinks at The Knott Inn. \nI have been asked to make you aware of a problem regarding the directions to this walk if you are coming from Marple\, which suggest following the A523 from the Rising Sun in Hazel Grove. \nThe problem is that there are signs that the A523 is closed from the 27th July (today) until the end of August between the HG park-and-ride to the A555 (ie the Rising Sun to the Fiveways) – although it was still open on Monday morning. \nThe obvious answer is to drive from Marple to Hawk Green\, then to High Lane\, turn right on to the A6 at the Horseshoe\, and then drive down to the A555\, and on to Macclesfield as signed with a left turn on the new bypass after a couple of miles. \nJust be aware that the A6 tends to be very busy in High Lane in the mornings so please allow time. \n  \n\n\n\n7 miles\, moderate
