SUMMARY:C Walk - Shining Tor
DESCRIPTION:Meet 10am for 10.15am start. \n\n\n\nPym Chair Car Park\, High Peak (free) \nFollow the A6 to Disley.  At traffic lights turn right along the Old Buxton Road and after less than a mile take a right turn along Mudhurst Lane/Higher Lane. Follow this for 3 miles and take a sharp left turn onto the B5740 towards Kettleshulme.  Just before getting into the village turn sharp right down Side End Lane (signed for Goyt Valley/Saltersford).  Follow this lane for 2 miles (passing Windgather Rocks) and the car park will be on your left just before you get to the T junction at the end of the road. \nRoute Summary: We will walk along good paths over Cats Tor and up tp the trig point at Shining Tor where we will have coffee.  We will continue to the ridge and atake a zig zag and rather stony path deep into the valley and towards Errwood Hall where we will have lunch.  We will then take a long. but quite gentle climb\, along Foxlow Edge on the lower path (passing St Joseph’s shrine) and from there back onto The Street which we follow uphill back to the car park.  The walk is only 6.5 miles but does have a fair bit of ascent/descent. \n\n\n\n6.5 miles\, moderate

DESCRIPTION:WalK on Thursday 24th September. Meet 10.15 for 10.30 start. 5 miles \n\n\n\nMeet Nelsons Pit SK121TH \n\n\n\nFrom Marple travel to the A6 via Torkington Road. Turn left then right at the third set of lights onto Norbury Hollow Road then immediately left onto Middlewood Road. After about half a mile\, pass Davenport Golf Club on the rhs then shortly turn left onto Anson Road. Nelson’s Pit will be facing you. Car park charge or park on the road opposite the pub. Alternatively travel to Poynton centre\, left at the roundabout onto Park Lane\, after less than a mile turn left onto Shrigley Road to Nelsons Pit. \n\n\n\nShort walk along canal to West Park Lodge then up a sloping lane to Lyme Park. \n\n\n\nDescent then back to canal. One ladder stile. \n  \n\n\n\n5 miles\, moderate
