SUMMARY:C Walk - Hartshead Pike (Change from programme)
DESCRIPTION:The walk to Hartshead Pike starts from the Car Park at Daisy Nook Country Park\, Stanneybrook Road\, M35 9WJ. Distance 7.5 miles\, ascent 945ft. \n\n\n\nMeet at 9:45 for 10 am start. Car Park is free\, and has toilets and a cafe. \n\n\n\nThe walk goes along the Tameside Trail towards Park Bridge Heritage Centre (with an early division to go around Sammy’s Basin). This section follows the remnants of the Hollinwood Branch Canal (a branch of the Ashton Canal). Aim is to have a coffee stop at the Heritage Centre. Then the walk goes up through the small industrial village and then down to enter the Rocher Vale of the Medlock Valley. Across Lees New Road (B6194) with a final climb up to Hartshead Pike for lunch. \n\n\n\nFrom there it’s a gentle descent down through Hartshead Green and back across Lees New  Road\, down Alt Hill Lane to join the disused railway path (now known as the Aston to Oldham Greenery but was originally the Oldham\, Ashton and Guide Bridge Junction Railway). Then across the A627 and back to Daisy Nook and the car park. \n\n\n\nDirections to Daisy Nook \n\n\n\nThe best route is via the M60.  Come off at Junction 23 (A6140 Ashton-u-Lyne) and turn left at top of the off ramp (and keep in the middle lane). At the traffic lights go straight over the A635 (Manchester Road) and at the next traffic lights turn right to join Lord Sheldon Way. Follow this road towards the roundabout at Ikea. \n\n\n\nKeep in the nearside lane and skirt round Ikea and then immediately turn left onto the A627 (Oldham Road). Keep in the nearside lane and carry on down this road to the 3rd set of traffic lights and turn left into Newmarket Road. You will see the brown information sign for Daisy Nook just before the turning. Continue along this road until you see the sign for Daisy Nook to turn right then immediately right again into the car park.  \n  \n\n\n\n7.5 miles\, moderate

SUMMARY:B Walk - Froggatt Edge
DESCRIPTION:Thursday’s B walk starts at 10:00 in Grindleford\, outside St Helen’s Church (and community cafe) on Main Road\, B6521\, postcode S32 2HE.  \n\n\n\nArriving in Grindleford from the south using the A623 through Stony Middleton\, there is on-street parking in Grindleford for a few cars on the main road just before you cross the river Derwent. Alternatively\, you can cross the river\, passing the church after about 100m\, and park on the main road just past the church. \n\n\n\nThe walk takes us to Grindleford station\, up Padley Gorge and through the Longshaw Estate on to White Edge Moor. We follow the Edge to Curbar Gap where we make our way back via Froggatt Edge. \n\n\n\nThis is one of our favourite walks\, and if you’re lucky you will spot deer and even adders (mind where you sit). \n\n\n\nThe walk is around 10m moderate\, with about 400m of ascent. \n\n\n\n10 miles\, moderate
