DESCRIPTION:Thursday’s walk will start at 10 am from the Barber Booth car park (pay & display) GR: SK 106 847. The walk is about 9.5 miles MS\, with 2 steep ascents of Chapel Gate & Mam Tor. \n\n\n\nWe will join the Chapel Gate path about half way up the ascent onto Rushup Edge. We then proceed along the edge and upto the summit of Mam Tor and then on to Hollins Cross. We then descend to the Edale valley and proceed to Edale village where we will take the Pennine Way path to Upper Booth and back to the start. \n\n\n\nThe weather forecast is for sun/cloud\, little chance of rain and approx 7 deg with light winds. However don’t hold me responsible if it’s a lot different lol. \n\n\n\nPlease note that road works in New Mills New Town at the junction with the A6 are still ongoing with temporary 3-way lights and will cause delays. Suggested alternative from Hazel Grove is to take the RH turn at Disley centre traffic lights which will take you to Higher Disley and onto the centre of Whaley Bridge where you have the option to carry on to Chapel\, or pick up the dual carriage way at the Tesco end of Whaley Bridge. \n  \n\n\n\n9.5 miles\, strenuous / moderate

These are not very big car parks so if you can…please car share. \n\n\n\nThe walk starts from the visitors centre. \n\n\n\nThis walk is approx 4.5-4.75 miles long and is mostly flat. \n\n\n\nWe will walk through the park following the meander of the River Bollin. \n\n\n\nThen into Prestbury village for lunch. \n\n\n\nFrom there we will leave the village and head out over farmland and through Tytherington golf club. Then there is a short walk along the road down to Tytherington wood\, then back through the other side of the Riverside Park and back to the car park. \n\n\n\nFrom your location head towards Macclesfield and the Silk Road\, B5092 London Rd. \n\n\n\nAt the 1st roundabout take the 3rd exit into the B5091 signposted Tytherington. \n\n\n\nThis is London Rd. Follow this road all the way through\, this becomes the A538 Manchester Rd\, and at each roundabout and then traffic lights drive straight ahead staying on this road. \n\n\n\nYou will then pass on your left Tytherington School then you will see the brown information sign for the right turn into Beechwood Mews.  \n\n\n\nDrive straight down to the bottom and the car parks are either side of the end of the road.  \n  \n\n\n\n5 miles\, easy

DESCRIPTION:Meet at 9.45 am to start walking at 10 am from Stockport Sports Village\, Lambeth Grove. SK6 1QX \n\n\n\nThe walk follows the River Tame first along Turner Lane (muddy and uneven) past the trout lake to Beight Bridge and then through Humes Wood to Haughton Dale. We return via the Peak Forest Canal towpath. \n\n\n\nRoute to Stockport Sports Village from Brabyns Hill Carpark: turn left on leaving the car park and follow the road through Marple and down Dan Bank to the lights. Here turn right into Dooley lane (A627)  to go past Dobbies Garden Centre and keep on this road through two sets of lights until you reach a T-junction at a third set of lights.  Turn right and be ready to turn left into second road\, Mill Lane which you follow over the railway bridge and then turn second right into Woodlands Avenue and then first left into Lambeth Grove. \n\n\n\nWhen you reach the Sports Centre building\, turn left in front of it to go into the carpark . Don’t go past the building. \n\n\n\nIt would be appreciated if you could inform Diane by 8 am Sunday morning if you intend to join the walk. If there are no takers she can then join the C walk. DESCRIPTION:This walk is a just over 7 miles with no stiles and a couple of gentle climbs. We will meet outside The Boathouse which is located at Sale Water Park (Cow Lane\, Sale M33 2LX) at 10.00am for a 10.15am start. Toilets are available at the start of the walk. \n\n\n\nThe walk will include Sale Water Park\, Sale Golf Club\, Wythenshawe Sports Ground\, River Mersey\, Chorlton Ees\, TransPennine Trail\, Bridgewater Canal and Priory Gardens. \n\n\n\nAfter the walk\, drinks are available from The Boathouse which is next to where we are meeting. \n\n\n\nDirections to the Main Car Park next to The Boathouse \n\n\n\nThe quickest way is to use the M60 which is about 14 miles and should take about 25 minutes to drive. \n\n\n\nGet on the M60 in Stockport\, and head towards the Trafford Centre. \n\n\n\nAt junction 6\, take the A6144 exit to Sale \n\n\n\nTake the 3rd exit at the roundabout at the end of the slip road \n\n\n\nAt the next roundabout\, take the 1st exit into Rifle Road \n\n\n\nAt the next roundabout\, take the 1st exit into Cow Lane \n\n\n\nFollow this Lane passed the Visitors Centre and Tree Tops Café and after about 0.5 mile\, the main car park is on your right. \n\n\n\nAlternatively\, for those who prefer NOT to drive on the motorway \n\n\n\nThis route avoids motorways but will certainly take longer so if using his route\, please allow plenty of time to reach your destination. \n\n\n\nTake the A555 (Manchester Airport Bypass) and exit onto the A34 Kingsway towards Manchester city centre. \n\n\n\nDrive for several miles until you pass under a footbridge\, and take the left hand lane to Didsbury.  After about one mile you will reach traffic lights signed A5145 Stretford/Chorlton.  Turn left. \n\n\n\nDrive about two miles until you reach Chorlton centre\, a set of traffic lights with a white building on the left.  Turn left. onto the A6010. \n\n\n\nPass Stretford metro station on the right\, and turn left at the next set of lights onto Chester Rd.   \n\n\n\nPass under the M60\, and at the next traffic lights turn left onto Dane Rd. \n\n\n\nAt the end of Dane Rd turn left.  Go straight through two roundabouts onto Rifle Rd. \n\n\n\nAt the next roundabout take the first exit onto Cow Lane.   \n\n\n\nFollow this lane past the visitors centre and the Treetops cafe.  After about 0.5 mile the main car park is on your right.  \n\n\n\n7 miles\, easy / medium

As you see ahead a 50 mph sign on the left (if you reach the 50 sign you’ve driven past) and a road also joins obliquely down from the left (now behind you)\, there is a right turn with a red sign warning of speed ramps to the right. Turn down there and follow the road past a couple of houses to the dam. Parking is on the left. It’s popular with dog walkers who mostly park sensibly in the area provided to the left at right angles to the road. If all those spaces are full or too muddy/wet there is usually plenty of space alongside the road before the parking spaces.  \n\n\n\nWalk 10.5 miles moderate \n\n\n\nWe walk down the reservoir to Bunsall Cob wood\,then up Wild Moor to the blocked tunnel. We continue to Shay Lodge and round to Berry Clough and down to the riverside path along to Goyt. Return is on the west side of the reservoir. \n  \n\n\n\n10.5 miles\, strenuous / moderate
