SUMMARY:C Walk - Hartshead Pike (Change from programme)
DESCRIPTION:The walk to Hartshead Pike starts from the Car Park at Daisy Nook Country Park\, Stanneybrook Road\, M35 9WJ. Distance 7.5 miles\, ascent 945ft. \n\n\n\nMeet at 9:45 for 10 am start. Car Park is free\, and has toilets and a cafe. \n\n\n\nThe walk goes along the Tameside Trail towards Park Bridge Heritage Centre (with an early division to go around Sammy’s Basin). This section follows the remnants of the Hollinwood Branch Canal (a branch of the Ashton Canal). Aim is to have a coffee stop at the Heritage Centre. Then the walk goes up through the small industrial village and then down to enter the Rocher Vale of the Medlock Valley. Across Lees New Road (B6194) with a final climb up to Hartshead Pike for lunch. \n\n\n\nFrom there it’s a gentle descent down through Hartshead Green and back across Lees New  Road\, down Alt Hill Lane to join the disused railway path (now known as the Aston to Oldham Greenery but was originally the Oldham\, Ashton and Guide Bridge Junction Railway). Then across the A627 and back to Daisy Nook and the car park. \n\n\n\nDirections to Daisy Nook \n\n\n\nThe best route is via the M60.  Come off at Junction 23 (A6140 Ashton-u-Lyne) and turn left at top of the off ramp (and keep in the middle lane). At the traffic lights go straight over the A635 (Manchester Road) and at the next traffic lights turn right to join Lord Sheldon Way. Follow this road towards the roundabout at Ikea. \n\n\n\nKeep in the nearside lane and skirt round Ikea and then immediately turn left onto the A627 (Oldham Road). Keep in the nearside lane and carry on down this road to the 3rd set of traffic lights and turn left into Newmarket Road. You will see the brown information sign for Daisy Nook just before the turning. Continue along this road until you see the sign for Daisy Nook to turn right then immediately right again into the car park.  \n  \n\n\n\n7.5 miles\, moderate

SUMMARY:C Walk - Torkington
DESCRIPTION:Meeting at 9.45 am to start at 10 am  \n\n\n\nThis easy\, nice country walk will take us through a wide range of unspoilt countryside settings from woodland\, meadows\, golf courses\, canal with lots of green fields again  and some panoramic views.  There are a number of stiles\, but they are easy to navigate. The initial woodland path has slightly raised tree roots in places so probably need to watch footing as we proceed. As it has been wet some relatively new wooden steps near the Brook have tree residues and are slippery so need to be used with care.  It is around 7.5 miles according to the OS App. \n\n\n\nThe walk will start from Offerton Old Road just off Offerton Road (A627). Ample parking – the nearest post code is SK2 5GE. \n\n\n\nRoute to Offerton Old Road \n\n\n\nFrom Brabyns Brow CP turn left\, head back  along Station Road to the lights opposite the Texaco/Coop petrol station. Follow Stockport Road past Rose Hill Station to the second set of lights at ‘Seventeen Windows’. Turn left at the lights (filter lane)\, just up the hill Offerton Old Road is the second on the right. \n\n\n\nPark on Offerton Old Road next to the trees. \n
