DESCRIPTION:A Stone walk. Start at 10am . Cutthroat Bridge layby. SK 216 874 \n\n\n\nLAYBY is 1.1 MILES after Ladybower lights\, on the right. A57 Snake road. \n\n\n\nPlease ignore the road closure signs at the Ladybower lights and at Cutthroat bridge. The road isnt shut until into Yorkshire. ( if by thurs it is genuinely closed I have a plan B for parking ) \n\n\n\nAn interesting walk ( especially if you like stones ) with great views. SUMMARY:C Walk - Prestbury (Change from programme)
DESCRIPTION:I am leading next week from Prestbury (please note change from programme) so\, another chance to enjoy the delights of the Cheshire countryside! We meet at 10.00 in Shirley’s Drive carpark\, SK10 4XQ\, to depart at 10.15. If approaching Prestbury from the A523 Macclesfield road\, go to the mini roundabout in the centre of the village\, turn left (first exit) then left again into Shirley’s Drive. Then turn second left\, immediately after Village Mews to find the rather hidden carpark\, which currently is free of charge!! \n\n\n\nIf you are coming from the Marple direction\, please note that the main road through Poynton is closed due to road works\, so it is best to take the A555 from near the Brookside Garden Centre\, and then join the A523 heading towards Macclesfield. \n\n\n\nThe walk is approximately seven and a half miles\, mainly on field paths and woodland\, with about half a mile of road walking. It is mainly flat\, although there are some undulations with gentle gradients. It goes through part of the Hare Hill grounds\, but NT cards are not needed. There are a couple of muddy patches\, and long wet grass in one field\, so I would recommend boots. There are  a dozen or so stiles\, mostly well-maintained. \n

DESCRIPTION:Given the weather forecast for a warm day\, we have decided to start the walk earlier than usual\, but at a moderate pace. \n\n\n\nStart is at 09.30 from the bus shelter opposite the Crispin\, Main Street\, Great Longstone DE45 1TZ . Grid ref SK199 718 \n\n\n\nI have tweaked the route twice\, once to avoid replicating the walk two weeks ago\, and again given the forecast. It’s 10 miles ( but I can shorten it)\, we do ascend Longstone Edge twice\, once each morn and afternoon.  \n\n\n\nRoute:-  Longstone Edge\, Housley\, Foolow\, Eyam ( lunch /loos)\, Stoney Middleton\, Coombs Dale and Bleaklow. \n\n\n\nPlease\, as I know you will\, bring plenty of water\, large floppy sunhat\, suntan lotion. \n\n\n\nTop tip\, bring an extra bottle of water to leave in the car\, from the fridge/freezer\, to drink after the walk. \n\n\n\nPlease check your email the evening before; if the temperature is forecast too high\, I will cancel. \n\n\n\nLook forward to you joining us\, \n  \n\n\n\n10 miles\, moderate
