DESCRIPTION:Sunday D Walk 26th July Tatton Park 5 easy miles  \n\n\n\nMeetingat Tatton Street Carpark at 10 am  to start walking at 10.15 am.  We enter the park through the Knutsford Drive gate\, walk alongside Tatton Mere\, curve round toTatton Hall to use the toilets at the Stables and then return walking alongside the garden  to the monument  with Melchette Mere on our left. There will be coffey and lunch breaks. \n\n\n\nRoute to Tatton Street Carpark (WA16 6AG)  \n\n\n\nI tried  the Google Maps sat nav  and found it took longer and was more circuitous than my normal route so here is my route from Stockport taking the M60 and then the M56 towards Warrington and turning off at Dunham/Lymn to go to Lymn.  \n\n\n\nFollow the Lymn road until you come to traffic lights where you turn left. \n\n\n\nFollow that road to the end where you turn left onto the A50 for Knutsford. Continue on the A50 until you reach the outskirts of Knutsford (large houses with gardens then smaller houses) and look for a large high signboard on the left for Knutsford Football Club and shortly past there is Garden Road where you turn left\, Be careful because cars are parked on one side so only one vehicle can drive through at a time but the road is short and at the end you turn into Tatton Street. The car park charges are reasonable at £2.40 for up to 4 hours. Payment is by card. \n

We walk at first on Brookbottom Road\, then up the adjacent hill and across the golf course to the rocky road leading to Hague Bar. We walk down to the River Goyt and follow the river back towards New Mills before crossing to pass Swizzels and Albion Road. We follow the canal before going down to Goytside and back to New Mills. DESCRIPTION:The walk next Thursday will start in the village of Over Haddon. \n\n\n\nIt is a circular walk that goes along both Lathkill and Bradford Dales. The route goes through Alport\, stays below Youlgreave and then follows the Limestone Way before returning along Lathkill Dale to Over Haddon. \n\n\n\nIt is a moderate walk of c. 7.5 miles with one steep\, but short climb out of Bradford Dale and a second\, more gradual climb back to the starting point. \n\n\n\nDirections to Over Haddon: \n\n\n\n\nTake the A6 to Buxton and then on towards Bakewell\n\n\n\nShortly after Ashford in the Water\, turn right up Crowhill Lane.\n\n\n\nAt the T junction turn left as far as the B5055\n\n\n\nTurn right and follow the signs to Over Haddon\, turning left off the B5055\n\n\n\nFollow the road as it bears right through the village\, and the car park is signposted to the left \n\n\n\nThe walk starts from the main car park in the village where there are toilets.\n\n\n\n\nThe total distance from Marple is around 25 miles. \n\n\n\nWe will meet at 10.00 for a 10.15 start. SUMMARY:B Walk - Wincle Brewery
DESCRIPTION:The walk starts at Danebridge\, opposite the Wincle Brewery\, at 10\, and goes north\, taking in Gradbach\, Wildboarclough and Oakenclough. It is about 10.5 miles. The forecast is for reasonable temperatures\, but if it turns hot there can be a shortened version.  \n\n\n\nDanebridge is reached by following the A523 through Macclesfield and turning left at traffic lights on to the road to Sutton and Langley. Follow this till it meets the A54\, then take the A54 keeping the same direction. Shortly afterwards at a crossroads\, turn right downhill. This road will take you to Danebridge. We meet right at the bottom\, on the bridge over the Dane. The postcode SK11 0QE covers a length of road starting well above the bridge\, but it should be possible to park quite a lot further down.   \n\n\n\n10.5 miles\, moderate

DESCRIPTION:This Thursday’s walk starts at Mytham Bridge which is (as I imagine many of you will already know) near Bamford Station. We begin by following the Derwent Valley Way to Hathersage\, climb up to Mitchell Field\, then to Over Owler Tor\, up the Burbage Valley\, along Stanage Edge\, down to Dennis Knoll and and back to our starting point. The distance is about 14 miles with 1850ft of ascent.Parking at Mytham Bridge is as shown on the map clipping below. The road is only accessible at its eastern end with the best parking on the left shortly after turning in – marked in red.
