DESCRIPTION:The Singing Ringing Tree ramble is 10.4 miles.Start:  10am at the entrance to the Barwise Car Park\, (Townley Hall) from the A671 Todmorden Rd\, Burnley BB11 3QT Barwise Car Park costs £2 by cash or phone. There are\, also several free\, parking spaces near the entrance to the car park from the A671. (Be lucky!)There are good views throughout the walk. In particular\, from the Singing Ringing Tree (a Panopticon Sculpture) there are views of Pendle Hill\, Bowland Fells\, Ingleborough\, Pen-y-Ghent\, Great Whernside and Burnley FC’s Turf Moor Football Ground (Come’n the Clarets!)It’s a lovely part of the world. For the first hour\, or so there’s a steady climb up to the Singing Ringing Tree then it’s a comfortable undulating walk on good paths finishing at Townley Hall Museum and Art Gallery \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n10.4 miles\, moderate

DESCRIPTION:Here are the details for Thursday’s walk. \n\n\n\nDirections for walk from Trentabank take the Macc road from Hazel Grove – via Macc ring road (Silk Road) Just after this joins the Leek road out of Macc at first Trafficlights turn left onto Byrons Lane (signposted Sutton\, Langley etc) and follow  until left turn to Langley. Follow this up to the Leather Smithy pub where road turns right.  Continue to end of reservoir bearing right with the road then turning left up to Trentabank. Free parking on rhs of road just before entrance to the car park and visitors centre. Otherwise use the car park (pay & display). Meet at 10.00 for 10.15 am start.  \n\n\n\nWalk goes up through Macc Forest and onwards to Shutlingsloe (over or round whichever you prefer) – then down the Wildboarclough valley and backthrough Oakencloughand via Hanging Gate and fields. DESCRIPTION:We are doing a circular walk around Gawsworth approximately 5 miles. \n\n\n\nModerate walk\, including pavements\, paths\, fields\, kissing gates and Stiles. \n\n\n\nCrossing over the rail bridge with a number of steps over to the Nature reserve. Across to Maggoty woods\, back along the road to the cars. \n\n\n\nWe meet at 10.15 for a 10.30 start. Meeting at the Hartington Arms. Congleton road\, Gawsworth.  SK119RJ.  \n\n\n\nFrom your location\, drive through Poynton to Macclesfield on the A523 Silk road. At the roundabout just passed Tesco\, take the 3rd exit Macclesfield road. Follow this untill the T- Junction with the flower Pot on the right. Keep on the Congleton road. Through the lights passing the village hall. Pass the slip road with a sign for the Harrington Arms and then turn next left follow the road round and park opposite the Arms. \n\n\n\nHope to see you all\, fingers Crossed for a dry day. \n  \n\n\n\n5 miles\, moderate

DESCRIPTION:Meet at 9:45 for a 10:am Start.  8miles. \n\n\n\nThe walk will start just past the Packhorse Inn on Butts Road in Little Longstone. \n\n\n\nPost Code: DE45 1NN \n\n\n\nSat Nav: SK 190717 \n\n\n\n///appoints.weeps.dolls \n\n\n\nFree parking roadside. \n\n\n\nDirections: Too many to choose from: but for a rough guide\,  Marple\, Hayfield\, A624  to join up with the A6. Follow this to the roundabout at Higher Halsteads and take the first exit A623 to Sparrowpit\, keep on this until  you reach the sign on your right  B6465 Wardlow\, follow this all the way to the Monsal Head Pub and turn left into Butts Lane to the start of walk. \n\n\n\nWe will start by crossing the fields to Ashford in the Water\, where we’ll have coffee break/toilets available\, then continue with a steep moderate climb on our way to  (but not into) Bakewell. \n\n\n\nWe will cross the river and take the long northerly path up to the Monsal trail and on to Great Longstone and finally back to the start at Little Longstone. \n\n\n\nThis is a repeat of the of the walk I did last year\, which received excellent reviews. \n\n\n\nGood views and landscapes\, good terrain\, only a few stiles- the broken one of last year has been replaced with a brand new one. \n\n\n\nAll we need now is some fine weather. \n\n\n\nPs: I rang the Packhorse Pub to see if they could accommodate a group of around 10 to 30 thirsty rambler’s for ‘afters’  –  they declined saying that it is peak period and requires bookings. \n\n\n\n So no. \n  \n\n\n\n8 miles\, moderate
