C Walk – Dunham Massey

March 31 @ 10:00 am

This walk is a flat 7.5 miles with only 5 stiles of which 2 are ladder stiles. On leaving the pub car park, we join the Bridgewater Canal for about 0.5 mile then we leave the canal to follow country lanes and paths to join the Trans Pennine Trail where we will have our coffee break. On leaving the TPT, we follow further country lanes and wooded paths to cross under the Bridgewater Canal before entering the Dunham Massey estate from the back entrance near the Swan with 2 Necks, Bollington. On entering the Gardens, we will take a short detour to take a look at the Mill, Lake and Hall before a break for lunch. Toilet facilities will be available during lunch as well as a cafĂ© and ice cream parlour. We then skirt the perimeter of the grounds  before passing through Dunham Golf Club onto further tracks which pass the famous Sunflower Field which is fantastic in the summer months and then back to the pub.

Sorry no dogs due to the roaming deer in Dunham Park.

For those who wish to have a preview of our walk, then go to https://www.plotaroute.com/route/1773170 but please do not alter the route.

Drinks are available at the end of the walk for those who wish to join me.
