We meet in the car park of St Mary’s church, Disley (SK12 2NP) to start walking at 10.15. Park in the top right of the car park – places are limited, so please share transport where possible. To reach the car park, travelling on the A6 towards Buxton, turn right at the traffic lights in the centre of Disley, and then immediately right again into Red Lane just behind the Ram’s Head. Go uphill, then turn left following the signpost into the church car park. There is no charge but they request a donation in the box.

The walk is 7.5 miles, and is basically as described on page 46 of the Club’s original “50 Years of Memorable Walks” booklet, but with the option of going up Black Hill or contouring around the base. It is likely to be very muddy in patches, and there are 7 or 8 stiles (including a difficult one!) The last 2 miles are easy walking along the canal towpath back into Disley from Furness Vale.
