This walk is just under 6 miles and is a relatively flat walk mostly on decent tracks/paths with no stiles. We leave the pub car park to pass through Ridgeway Grundy Park to briefly join the Bridgewater Canal to reach the village centre. We then follow the Dingle to walk around Lymm Dam. We then follow quiet country lanes to pass the St Peter’s church at Oughtrington and the outskirts of Lymm High School which take us to Spud Wood. We pass through Spud Wood to reach the Bridgewater Canal for a short distance before joining the TransPennine Trail. We then follow the Dingle to follow the canal again to cross over to the other side and back through Ridgeway Grundy Park back to the start.

We will meet in the Crown Inn car park (we have permission to use their car park) at 10.15am for a 10.30am start. Please car share if possible. Lunch is booked for 1.30pm.

The distance from Marple is about 22 miles and should take about 40 minutes to drive to the start:

• Get on M60 in Stockport from A626
• Follow M60 and M56 to Lymm Rd/A56 in Cheshire East
• Take the exit towards A556
• At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit
• At Bowdon Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Lymm Road/A56
• Continue to follow A56 for about 4.5 miles and your destination will be on the left
