This week’s walk starts from Hole House Lane car park, GR 927789. To avoid the road works on the Macclesfield road it is probably best reached by turning left at the Adlington crossroads, go about 1¼ miles and then right down Sugar Lane (just after crossing the canal). After a mile turn right down Hole House Lane, the car park is on the right after 2-300 yards.

The walk is about 13 miles with 2000ft climbing, much of the walk is on tracks and some minor roads, when I did the recce there were several very muddy fields but it has been quite dry since then so I am hoping for less mud.

The route goes generally south on the edge of the Cheshire plain and through Bollington to Higher Hurdsfield then towards Lamaload reservoir, Rainowlow and back to the car park.
