Start Point – Haywood National Trust Car Park (S11 7TZ. Grid ref: SK255777; OS: W3W: ///stars.nodded.nest).  The car park is free for NT members, so please bring your membership card if you have one.

The National Trust have recently changed their parking contractor, so if you are a member it is probably easiest if you download the JustPark app and book your parking via that (free for members).  There is also the option of using a machine in the cafe at the Longshaw estate, so we’ll take that option for anybody who is bringing an extra membership card for others to use or doesn’t want to do it via the app.  Parking is £8 for the day otherwise! I will bring a spare card with me and hopefully others can do the same and no one will have to pay.

Description – The planned walk is 13 miles with a steady 1560’ steady elevation and one fairly steep down hill section just after the start.  The route will go via the Derwent Valley Heritage Way, Padley Gorge, Longshaw Estate, White Edge,  Blackstone Edge, Baslow Edge, Curbar Edge and Froggatt Edge.  A lot of the walk is exposed so please be prepared for the conditions.
