A Walk – Hayfield

January 16 @ 10:00 am

Thursday’s walk starts from Valley Road Hayfield at 10:00.

The forecast is very good and it should be a perfect day for a “classic” walk i.e. we have probably all done it several times! If the weather is poor on the day or the ground is still very icy, I have an alternative.

Plan A: Up to 14 miles, strenuous. Snake path, Burnt Hill, along the edge of Kinder to Swine’s back (there are various ways to cut this short if necessary) and back to Hayfield.

I will not do this if there is likely to be cloud on Kinder (no point in walking in cloud) or if there is still a lot of ice high up (I will check this on Wednesday).

Plan B: Up to 13 miles (again there are many ways to shorten this if necessary), moderate. Snake path, Burnt Hill, Harry Hut, Monk’s Road, Matley Moor, Lantern Pike, Rowarth, Sett Valley Trail, Hayfield.

I will e-mail on Wednesday evening to let you know which route I plan to do.
