This week’s walk is from Rowarth to Rome (well Melandra Castle but that will have to do)

Start at 10:00 from Rowarth car park, grid reference 012892. For anyone unfamiliar with this car park it is NOT the one at the Little Mill pub, you turn left just before the pub (there is a sign for the public car park) and go about 1/4 of a mile.

Route is via Charlesworth and Broadbottom to Melandra Castle returning via Simmondly and paths to the east of Cown Edge. 

There are a few rickety bridges and one that is officially closed but usable, minimal risk of death. 

12.5 miles, about 2000 feet of ascent, moderate.
