Start 10am Fernilee Dam car park directions: 

 You need to be careful as there’s no road-sign showing a turn-off. As you see ahead a 50 mph sign on the left (if you reach the 50 sign you’ve driven past) and a road also joins obliquely down from the left (now behind you), there is a right turn with a red sign warning of speed ramps to the right. Turn down there and follow the road past a couple of houses to the dam. Parking is on the left. It’s popular with dog walkers who mostly park sensibly in the area provided to the left at right angles to the road. If all those spaces are full or too muddy/wet there is usually plenty of space alongside the road before the parking spaces. 

Walk 10.5 miles moderate

We walk down the reservoir to Bunsall Cob wood,then up Wild Moor to the blocked tunnel. We continue to Shay Lodge and round to Berry Clough and down to the riverside path along to Goyt. Return is on the west side of the reservoir.
