B Walk – Litton

May 14 @ 10:00 am

Start Time – 10.00am.
Start Point – Litton, Derbyshire (Grid ref.:165752) – near Tideswell.
Take the A515 out of Buxton.  At the Bradwell/Tideswell crossroads,
turn right towards Tideswell and then immediately left towards Litton.
There is free Parking in the centre of the village.
Can we please meet outside the Post Office/Community Shop to start the Walk.
There are no Toilets in the village.
The Weather Forecast for next Thursday is not the best, at the
moment,- Cool and wet!     A temperature of 8 degrees is forecast.
I will be using OS Map OL24 (Dark Peak Area).

It is a varied Moderate walk with steepish sections.  Some of the
paths are stony, and could be wet..  There are also some grassy and
muddy sections, as well as a little road surface walking.   There are
some stiles to be negotiated.

Overall, it is a pleasant walk because of the variation in
scenery we will see.  It is approximately 9.5 to 10 miles long.  From
the Start Point, we head towards Longstone moor via Tansley Dale, then
in a Southerly direction to Little Longstone, and then via Monsal Head
and the Monsal Trail onto Millers Dale back to Litton.

I look forward to seeing all those coming to enjoy this walk.

I must advise that from May 9th-16th, it is the M.D.R.C.’s Chair’s
charity walk week in aid of Oliver’s Dragons.   This is a local
charity supporting children impacted by cancer.   I will therefore be
collecting from those that would like to make a donation to this
charity.  Or if it is preferred, a donation, clearly labelled as for
the Chair’s charity, can be paid directly into the M.D.R.C.’s Bank
Account.
