A circular walk from Broadbottom to Werneth Low

Details:
A moderate 7.5 mile walk starting from Lymefield vistors centre,  Broadbottom. First passing through Broad Mills Heritage Site and walking uphill through Great Wood to the monument on Werneth Low. Then we drop down through Back Wood to pass Bothams Hall and return via Tom Wood.

In the woods there will be many muddy, overgrown and uneven paths and maybe one or two fallen trees.

Meet at
Lymefield Visitors Centre,
Lower Market Street,
Broadbottom, Hyde SK14 6AG

There is limited free parking opposite the visitors centre otherwise plenty of free parking on the left hand side of the access road where there are no yellow lines.

Also at the adjacent Lymefield garden centre there are toilets (and a farm shop and refreshments).  However they say their car park is “for customer’s use only”

Directions
From Marple go to Marple station and pass the “Purple Pakora” car park.  Carry on down through Marple Bridge and follow the road towards Glossop.  At Charlesworth turn left at the “George and Dragon” pub down Long Lane. Immediately after the narrow bridge over the river (beside the railway viaduct) turn left at the sign for “Lymefield Garden Centre and Takeaway”
