The 7 mile walk is moderate with two climbs and 5 stiles. Gaiters will be needed as there will be some mud . We will start from the visitor centre in Castleton where there are toilets.

> Start time 10.15am . Parking at the centre is pay and display, £6 for all day. There is however free parking on the roadside which goes to Treatcliff Cavern. Turn left out of Winnats Pass. It is then a 7 to 10 min walk back towards Castleton and the visitor centre, so please allow for this.

> We walk from the car park , cross fields and towards Lose hill but not up it. We turn left to a little wood and then onto the Mam Tor ridge. Having come down via the steps we make our way back into Castleton on the foot path along Winnats.

> Should the weather be very bad there is an option to make the walk shorter.
