The walk is local. Werneth low area, a canal walk through Woodley tunnel (176 yards). Then down and round through the Tame valley following the river. Up through Apethorne lane. A steepish walk up to Werneth low (not right to the top). About 7.5 ish miles.

A few stiles and the usual uneven ground but mostly good going. One busy strech of road about 500 yards, and about a mile or so of back roads.

Please note there are some steep steps down to the canal towards the tunnel. For those who don’t fancy the tunnel or the steps there is an alternative route, which is a short walk through the estate and we can meet up the other side of the tunnel. A torch is not needed but could be very useful.

Meet at the top of Guywood lane Romiley as it joins Hill Top lane. It is all on road parking. There is more parking as Guywood meets High Meadows slightly lower down. Post code SK6 4AW. Guywood land is next to Romiley station. 10am for 10.15 start.
