C Walk – Lymm

April 18 @ 10:00 am

This walk is just over 7 miles and is a flat walk mostly on decent tracks/paths with no stiles but please be aware that we do cross some fields which will be very muddy with the recent heavy rain so gaiters and poles are advised. We leave the Sow Brook playing fields car park to join the TransPennine Trail before taking country lanes and paths to reach the Bridgewater Canal. We follow the canal for about a mile before crossing over the bridge at Agden. We then follow further country paths to pass through Hesdale Wood and then we pass the outskirts of Lymm High School to reach St Peter’s church at Oughtrington. Further country lanes take us to Lymm Dam which we go round completely and then follow the Dingle which takes us through the centre of the village and back to the car park. We will have a late lunch so that we can have it overlooking Lymm Dam.

Please meet at 10.00am for a 10.15am start.

For those who wish to have a preview of our walk, then go to https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2354452 but please do not alter the route.

Drinks are available at the Golden Fleece pub which is about 0.5 mile from the end of the walk for those who wish to join me.
