Panoramic Views, Brooks, Rivers, History and Woodland

Meeting at 9.30am to start at 9.45am

This varied, photography and funghi friendly, country walk will take us through a wide range of countryside settings from panoramic views, wooded brooks, riverside, nature reserve, historical sites and woodland. There are a number of stiles, which are easy to navigate. There are a couple of short climbs following coffee break, it is moderate country walking of around 7.5 miles,using the OS App.

 
The walk will start from Torr Top Car Park New Mills (SK22 4BS) 

Route to the Torr Top Car Park.  

From Marple drive through Strines and Hague Bar towards New Mills. As soon as you reach New Mills at the little roundabout near the bus terminus, turn left and then immediately right into Rock Street and then left on Torr Top Street. There are carpark signs at Rock Street for the Millenium Walkway, the Sett Valley Trail and the Heritage Centre (that’s three different directions ….!) The car park is on your right. 

Alternatively turn first left at the roundabout and proceed past the shops (Market Street) to the next junction turn sharp right onto Torr Top Street (in front of New Mills Kebab Shop) drive past local Sainsbury’s (on left) to car park entrance further down on the left.
