Hathersage for Stanage Edge

The walk is 7.5 – 8 miles with some ascent up to the top of Stanage Edge.

Poles, if used, recommended.

Staring point Hathersage, Oddfellows Car Park which is pay and display.

£6.60 all day – cash / card /phone.

Directions – A6 / ring road around Chapel as far as turn off for Castleton etc.

Down Winnats Pass and through Hope Valley as far as Hathersage.

On entering Hathersage take early right turn onto B6001 Grindleford –

first left look is Oddfellows Road – take this and car park is

immediately on the left.

There might be spaces (free) on that road.

The walk goes north from Hathersage then north east up to the Edge –

then south / east passing the southern trig point and down off the

Edge to RingingLow Road then South west past Higger Tor and across

fields/paths back to Hathersage.

Early start required because of Easter and Parking so I suggest we

meet at 9.45 for 10.00 start.
