Directions to Start

Meet on the National Trust Quarry Bank/Styal Mill Car Park. The B5166, Styal

Road, runs from Heald Green to Wilmslow. Mid way along this road – turn into Quarry Bank Road

which leads onto the large ,free, Styal Mill Car Park where the walk will commence.

Details of Walk

A leisurely stroll past Styal Mill, along the River Bollin towards The Carrs, and

across to Morley Green. From there we head towards Airport Runway 2 and follow the course of the

river back to Styal Mill Country Park.

The route will be mainly on (normally) good-ish tracks with a little bit of up and down. If it’s not

frozen then there will probably be some mud to negotiate. Depending on the conditions on the day

there’s a likelihood that the route may have to be altered – so the total distance walked could vary a

bit.

We’ll aim to do two stops. Bring coffee and sandwiches. The use of Walking Poles is strongly

recommended.
