C Walk – Walton Hall / Daresbury

May 5 @ 10:00 am

DARESBURY AND WALTON HALL.  7.5 miles through a lush and varied area of Cheshire.  A mixture of country lanes, field tracks, canal towpath, woodland, a village, and a golf course.  The countryside is gently undulating with only three easy hills, no stiles, and one busy main road to cross.  When I did the recce there were several patches of mud, but nothing difficult.  There are toilets at the three mile mark at Walton Hall.  This walk is suitable for friendly dogs and well behaved owners.

From Brabyns drive to Stockport and join the M60 towards Chester.

Follow the signs for the airport and merge onto the M56.

Leave the M56 at junction 11.

At the roundabout take the 4th exit onto the A56.

Drive for about one mile until you enter a 40mph zone.

Turn next right onto the B5356 signed Daresbury.

After about 100 yards you will see the Ring O’ Bells pub on your right.

Turn sharp right into the pub car park.  Drive up to the top where I will meet you at 10am for a 10.15 start.

The pub manager has kindly given us permission to use the car park.  Please park as far away from the pub buildings as possible, and call in after the walk for a drink.  Also, please do not park in the church car park.

The distance from Marple is about 29 miles, and journey time is about 45 minutes.
