This nice country walk will take us through a wide range of unspoilt countryside settings from woodland, meadows, golf courses, canal with some panoramic views. There are a number of stiles. The initial woodland path has slightly raised tree roots in places so probably need to watch footing as we proceed and there is one slightly tricky bit as we cross Torkington Brook. Apart from that it is moderate to easy country walking of around 4.9 miles.

The walk will start from Offerton Old Road just off Offerton Road (A627). Ample parking – the nearest post code is SK2 5GE.

Route to Offerton Old Road
From Brabyns head back along Station Road to the lights opposite the Texaco/Coop petrol station. Follow Stockport Road past Rose Hill Station to the second set of lights at ‘Seventeen Windows’. Turn left at the lights (filter lane), just up the hill Offerton Old Road is the second on the right.

Park on Offerton Old Road next to the trees.
