The walk is approximately 4.5 miles starting from the Little Mill pub. It is a circular loop from Rowarth walking mainly along country lanes and well defined paths including the Pennine Bridleway so it is good underfoot apart from a small bit at the start beside a stream. However there are some stiles and some inclines although the latter are not very steep.

 – I have spoken to the landlady and it is very quiet during the day in the winter and there are 2 large car parks so she was happy for us to use it.

Directions from Marple Bridge – proceed along Town Street and keep going up the hill along Longhurst Lane to Mellor. Past the Devonshire and Odd Fellow pubs until you reach a junction. Turn left along Shiloh Road until you see a sign for the Little Mill pub Rowarth/ Rowarth turn right here and keep going until you get to the pub car park.
