Thursday’s walk starts at Middleton by Youlgreave. There isn’t a car park, but there should be no problem with finding places by the road down to the village or around the big space in the middle. We will meet by the children’s playground (and near the Public Conveniences) to start walking at 10.15. There will be some climbing as we go up from the river Bradford before going down into Lathkilldale, and again from the river below Youlgreave up to Robin Hood’s Stride. The rest of the walk is mostly a gentle amble along rivers. Because of some waterlogged ground found on a recce a week ago, the route is a bit different from the one originally planned and is now 9 miles. A recce of the new route on Sunday didn’t find any problems.
