C Walk – Anderton Boat Lift (Change from programme)
April 14 @ 10:00 am
Anderton Boat Lift and Marbury Country Park
This walk is a relatively flat 7.5 miles and only 3 stiles. On leaving the
pub car park, we head towards the Anderton Boat Lift to then follow the
Trent and Mersey canal for a short time. We then follow the North Cheshire
Way to pass through Marshalls Wood and then skirt Haydn’s Pool to join up
with Witton Brook which we cross to follow the Weaver Navigation around
Carey Park. We then cross Witton Mill Bridge to join further tracks which
take us passed Ashton’s and Neumann’s Flashes before passing through the
village of Marston to rejoin the Trent and Mersey canal passing Forge Woods
and Dairy House Meadows. We then cross the canal to enter Marbury Country
Park through the Big Wood to follow a path which runs next to the lake. On
leaving the Country Park, we cross into Kennel Wood to follow more paths and
country lanes back to the start.

minutes to drive to the start.
