C Walk – Hulme End

My walk on 10th October will be just over 6 miles from Hulme End Car Park, Post Code SK17 0EZ, G.R. 103593 White Peak Map. The Car Park offers Ring Go or 4.75 in cash. Advisable to take cash, as Hulme End phone reception is poor. There is also a nice cafe with its own car park, You may park there as long as you buy something. Toilets. Meet at 10.15 for a 10.30 start.
The walk starts on the old Manifold Railway, then a long ascent on moorland paths to the summit of Ecton Hill 369 metres. By field paths and stony tracks down to Wetton Mill. There are horses, cattle, and sheep. Return via the Manifold Trail.
Drive from Marple to Buxton, then via the A515 and B5054 tom Hartington, continue into Staffordshire for 2 miles on the B5054. Car park is on the left.
