Parking: please park at the free car park on Canal Street, Whaley Bridge, near to the Goyt Valley Medical and Dental Practice, postcode: SK23 7LX. Car sharing is recommended.

There are also car parking spaces on the road after you drive past Tesco, further up on the left-hand side. Alternatively, there is parking at Tesco’s car park on the FAR SIDE of the petrol station, which is a 5-minute walk to the Canal Street Car park.

Time: 09:45 for a 10:00 start.

Walk: We will along the canal and up to the main road, then cross over and follow the path under the railway. We then follow the paths through Hockerley and will take a long climb over Whaley Moor and, weather permitting, beautiful Spring views of Kettleshulme and Bowstones. After our coffee break we will continue across the moor before gradually dropping down into Scar Wood for lunch. This woodland walk will continue along Todd Brook and through farm tracks until crossing the road and eventually joining the Memorial Park and back to the start.

 The terrain includes stony tracks, wide grassland paths, country lanes, narrow woodland trails and MUD! Please bring poles if you usually use them. There are several styles and gates.
