The walk on Sunday will start in the village of Over Haddon.

 

It is a circular walk that goes along both Lathkill and Bradford Dales. The route goes through Alport, stays below Youlgreave and then follows the Limestone Way before returning along Lathkill Dale to Over Haddon.

 

It is a moderate walk of c. 7.5 miles with one steep, but short climb out of Bradford Dale and a second, gentle climb back to the starting point.

 

Directions to Over Haddon:

 

• Take the A6 to Buxton and then on towards Bakewell
• Shortly after Ashford in the Water, turn right up Crowhill Lane.
• At the T junction turn left as far as the B5055
• Turn right and follow the signs to Over Haddon, turning left off the B5055
• Follow the road as it bears right through the village, and the car park is signposted to the left 
• The walk starts from the main car park in the village where there are toilets.

 

The total distance from Marple is around 25 miles.
