Here are the details for Thursday’s walk.

Directions for walk from Trentabank take the Macc road from Hazel Grove – via Macc ring road (Silk Road) Just after this joins the Leek road out of Macc at first Trafficlights turn left onto Byrons Lane (signposted Sutton, Langley etc) and follow  until left turn to Langley. Follow this up to the Leather Smithy pub where road turns right. Continue to end of reservoir bearing right with the road then turning left up to Trentabank. Free parking on rhs of road just before entrance to the car park and visitors centre. Otherwise use the car park (pay & display). Meet at 10.00 for 10.15 am start.

Walk goes up through Macc Forest and onwards to Shutlingsloe (over or round whichever you prefer) – then down the Wildboarclough valley and backthrough Oakencloughand via Hanging Gate and fields. (About 7.5 miles)The weather forecast is not good – high probability of rain so
